Formed in 1988, MCR's projects are generously expressive in both form (sculptural character and geometry) and palette (colours and materials). Robert is an architect and member of the RAIA. He studied science at Monash University before earning his B.Arch and M.Arch from RMIT. James Stockwell is a Director of James Stockwell Design

James Stockwell Architect is based in Surry Hills Sydney. Projects are predominantly residential in landscape settings and have included apartments. The practice is also currently documenting a purpose built preschool at Leura in the Blue Mountains.

Buildings are in progress in locations around New South Wales and in Western Australia.

Practice Philosophy: A ‘machine for living’ approach with a small pallet of natural materials to achieve contemporary autonomous buildings. Test new ways of achieving passive solar performance by prototyping systems and taking a closer look at climate and geology to generate unique solutions.
